We envision a thriving Colorado Springs in which all people, including GLBT people, can reach their full potential as human beings, free from oppression and discrimination. We envision a region where individual rights are honored, and constitutional rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are upheld for all people.

History

Pikes Peak Gay & Lesbian Community Center is a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization founded in 1978 and formally incorporated in 1981. As Colorado’s 2nd oldest GLBT community center, the organization’s purpose is to create a level playing field for LGBT people in the Pikes Peak region and Southern Colorado.

Our Work

The work of the Pride Center is based upon a 2004 Needs Assessment and General Survey in which more than 300 community members identified the Center’s major priorities:

• Advocate for GLBT interests in the media, in policy and in local government
• Provide Resources & Direct Service referrals to LGBT people and their supporters
• Promote a sense of community through Events and Collaborations.
• Provide for Social & Support Groups, and support the development of GLBT groups and organizations.
• Promote the Health & Well-Being of LGBT people.
